New Django Unchained Infographic Tells The History Of Bounty Hunting

There's a terrific history of cinematic bounty hunters, and this Christmas Jamie Foxx will join their ranks. As the lead in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained, Foxx plays the titular escaped slave who teams up with an Austrian bounty hunter/dentist named Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz), and while assisting his partner track down the criminals he's looking for, Django also also becomes trained in the profession as well. But what is the exact history of the profession? How far back does it go? The Weinstein Company has just released a tiny infographic about that very information.
The new image was posted over on the official Facebook page for Django Unchained, and you can see it below (click on the image to see it full size.
The Weinstein Company seems to be going in a new direction with their advertising, at least where it pertains to period pieces about gunslingers. Over the summer the studio released a number of infographics explaining the real history behind John Hillcoat's Lawless, detailing different handguns of the time, the moonshine making process and the gangsters of prohibition. I must say I really like this new tactic. It's edutainment!
Both written and directed by Tarantino, Django Unchained also stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson, Don Johnson, Kerry Washington, Walton Goggins and many more.
