First Flight Trailer Shows Denzel Washington Crash-Landing A Plane

It's been a great day for movie trailers, with the Django Unchained trailer giving us a look at what Quentin Tarantino has in store for us this holiday season, and the Wreck-It Ralph trailer previewing the video-game themed animated film from Disney. And now we have a look at Paramount's upcoming Flight, which flies into theaters this November.

Directed by Robert Zemeckis and written by Real Steel's John Gatins, Flight stars Denzel Washington as Whip Whitaker, a pilot who manages to crash-land a jet during a mid-air catastrophe, saving lives in the process. From the trailer, it looks like the story will be split between the horrific plane crash and the aftermath, which involves an investigation of the incident. Check it out below or watch it in HD over at iTunes (opens in new tab).

The plane crash scenes are particularly chilling - especially the plane coming in upside down - as is the sight of the reconstructed plane. But the investigation and the scenes that suggest Washington's character may be blamed in some way for the crash offer an intriguing twist to the story, and one that may prove to be both entertaining and unnerving. It's also well worth noting that the cast is pretty great. In addition to Washington, John Goodman, Don Cheadle and Melissa Leo also star.

Flight arrives in theaters November 2. More information can be found in our Blend Film Database.
