Holly Hunter Joins Diablo Cody's Untitled Movie

While the project that is to mark the directing debut of Diablo Cody has yet to find a title, it has added one more recognizable name to its cast. Holly Hunter, known for various film roles (one Academy award winning), and more recently, a starring role in TNT’s Saving Grace, is set to play a part in Cody’s untitled project.

According to Deadline, Hunter will join Julianne Hough, Russell Brand, and Octavia Spencer in Cody’s untitled film, which follows a woman (Hough) who’s involved in a plane crash and loses her faith, resulting in a trip to Vegas to “experience the wild side of life.” Hunter has been cast to play Hough’s character’s “conservative, overprotective mother.” While Hunter’s Saving Grace character Grace Hanadarko was anything but conservative, it’s certainly not difficult picturing the actress in such a role.

Hunter isn’t the only one with an Academy Award boarding this project. Cody has one for penning the screenplay for Juno. Directing will be new territory for her but at least she’ll have the support of a seasoned actor in Hunter. Cody fans will want to check out Katey’s very positive review of Young Adult.
