New International Dark Knight Posters

New international artwork for The Dark Knight has popped up on the Spanish-language website Omelete today, yet another reminder that the July 18 release date really isn’t so far away at all. While the international Dark Knight posters have often been more arty and glamorous than what we’ve seen here in the States, these seem to be leaning a lot closer to traditional comic book territory.

First there’s a big one-sheet poster, which features Batman not in silhouette or in the background, but fully in the foreground like a superhero ought to be. And he’s… driving a motorcycle? Shooting a gun with a giant wheel attached? It’s a little hard to tell what’s going on, though I’m pretty sure that’s the Batcycle we’re looking at.

A little more contemplative are the individual character posters, which come together in a big wide poster. Batman holds a tiny batarang in front of his eye, Harvey Dent has an “I Believe in Harvey Dent” button, and the Joker has one of his calling cards. It’s strange to see Heath Ledger back in the advertising again, but the image of him holding up one of the playing cards is perfectly creepy.

The posters are pretty much a mixed bag for me, but you can check out smaller versions of them below to decide for yourself. Any Dark Knight publicity is good at this point, but now that they have to start doing full-fledged marketing as opposed to just teasers, some of the mystique seems to be wearing off.

See all of the posters in high-res, and a big version of the teaser posters all joined together over at Omelete.
