We’ve been hearing about the possibility of a movie based on the now ended Fox television series 24 for years now. Things haven’t looked particularly good. Back in December we learned that the script written for the film by Billy Ray had been rejected, and back on the first of this year we heard that Tony Scott might be sweeping in with a big idea. Bottom line though, there’s been no concrete indication that this film will happen any time soon, until tonight that is.

The following video contains an interview with 24 star Kiefer Sutherland in which he reveals that not only is the 24 movie still happening, they plan to “start shooting hopefully by next December or January.” Here’s Kiefer:


Maybe this means Tony Scott’s big idea has taken hold? He’s a big enough name that if he chose to take on the project, it’d be a sure way to get things moving in the direction of a definite start date. We’re still looking into this one, we’ll let you know more as we hear it.
