Pour yourself a celebratory White Russian, for Joel and Ethan Coen’s beloved The Big Lebowski finally is going Blu and Universal’s throwing a star-studded party in New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom to commemorate the occasion.

Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi and T. Bone Burnett are scheduled to attend the event, which takes place Tuesday, Aug. 16 and also serves as the launch party for Bridges’ self-titled album, which Burnett produced. (What, Tara Reid was too busy?)

The Lebowski cast reportedly will conduct a Q-and-A after the movie has screened. This event also marks the 10-year anniversary of the annual Lebowski Fest, a gathering of die-hard Lebowski fans (called Achievers) who unite on a regular basis to bowl, quote the movie and basically bask in the glow of all things related to The Dude.

Universal also released specific details about the Lebowski Blu-ray, which will come with a 28-page companion book featuring interviews with Jeff Dowd (the Coen Brothers’ inspiration for The Dude), Bridges’ legendary on-set photography, a film timeline and trivia. Other exclusive features included in the limited-edition set are features on the film’s music, an on-screen counter that tallies F-bombs and “Dudes,” a game that challenges you to finish famous quotes from the movie, and tons of conventional DVD supplements.

It sounds like Universal is going out of its way to make the Lebowski Blu-ray an interactive event, which is necessary, as no film has as active a fan base as this. In addition to the cast reunion, there will be a New York Bowling Party Monday, Aug. 15, at Chelsea Piers. Tickets for these once-in-a-lifetime events are on sale via Ticketmaster as we speak, but a tweet posted this morning said that floor seats are gone and balcony seats are disappearing.
