Joss Whedon is going to be spending at least the next two years of his life completely embedded in the Marvel Universe. In addition to writing and directing The Avengers 2, he's also serving as a guide for all of Marvel Studios' Phase Two plans, and most recently completed filming the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pilot that will likely be airing on ABC this fall. Being one of the gods of the geek kingdom, there's little doubt that he's loving his time in the comic book world, but it's understandable that he would need to stick his head above water and work on something else for a while. And that's exactly how the upcoming Much Ado About Nothing came about.
With the Shakespeare adaptation due to hit theaters this June, Entertainment Weekly has unveiled the brand new poster for the film, and while it's basically the same as the first still that was released a while back, I'm not sure I'll ever really get sick of the image of Fran Kranz wearing a snorkel and drinking a martini in a pool.
Featuring an amazing ensemble cast stacked with Whedon regulars like Kranz, Amy Acker, Alexis Denisof, Nathan Fillion, Reed Diamond, Clark Gregg and Sean Maher, the movie is a word-for-word adaptation of Shakespeare's great dark comedy set in modern times and shot entirely at Whedon's house. The film will be in theaters on June 7th, and in addition to the amazing theatrical trailer - which you can watch below - head over HERE to read my live blog from WonderCon late last month.
