Movie trailers have become big business. No longer are they simple marketing tools to sell a feature length film; in recent years they have turned into highly anticipated events themselves. While you probably already knew that Batman, Superman, and Captain America would get ample attention during the Super Bowl commercial breaks, they will be sharing the spotlight with other, less conventional heroes: The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. A new teaser for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows Super Bowl trailer has just hit the web, and it’s every bit enticing as it is short. Check it out below.

I told you it was short, didn’t I? In just a few short seconds, the teaser showcases every major facet of the movie, ranging from the titular turtles standing side by side, Stephen Amell’s premiere as Casey Jones, and the arrival of a threat far greater than anything the turtles have ever fought before. Although much of the marketing material for the film we have seen thus far has teased a battle with the evil Shredder, the portal in the sky points to a distinct possibility that Dimension X will make an appearance when Krang comes to New York. While the teaser may be short, we will know much more about the film by the end of today, and as such we will be able to bring you much more in depth analysis in terms of the overall plot and direction of the upcoming sequel.
During a time when all superhero movies seem to be striving for a dark, gritty, and overall somber tone, it’s nice to see that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows generally seems to be opting for a more faithful tone. The team of adolescent reptiles will certainly face off against some grandiose threats and massive monsters, but the whole affair seems incredibly lighthearted in tone. Check out the first official trailer for the film to get a better sense of what’s to come for the turtles.
