New Prometheus Images Let Us Peek Into Ridley Scott's Universe

I must admit: I've been trying to keep my excitement for Prometheus in check. Don't get me wrong, I've loved everything we've seen from the movie so far, from its breathtaking trailers to its amazing viral campaign, but the truth is that director Ridley Scott's films of the last decade haven't been nearly as impressive as his work from early in his career. Still, with every new piece of promotion for the upcoming sci-fi epic my defense gets weaker and weaker, and today's new gallery of images isn't helping at all.

AVP Galaxy and Kinopoisk have both discovered brand new images from Prometheus and, as you could probably predict, they are stunning. Rather than showing off the film's amazing crew, the stills instead give us a look at the various environments that the characters will be acting in, and the level of detail is out of this world (if you'll pardon the pun). There are 11 new images in total, and while you can check out a few of them below you'll have to head over to the sources to see all of them.

A prequel to Scott's brilliant 1979 classic, Alien, Prometheus follows a group of scientists into space as they search for the origins of mankind. What they discover, however, could result in the extinction of the human race. Based on a script by Damon Lindelof and Jon Spaihts, the movie stars Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Ben Foster, Guy Pearce, Noomi Rapace, Logan Marshall-Green and Guy Pearce.
