Take That Sex Drive To The Hot Tub

Call my taste lowbrow, but I thought Sex Drive was hilarious, and was surprised when more people didn't come out to see it this fall. But luckily one box office flop won't be enough to kill the careers of writers Sean Anders and John Morris, who will move over to MGM to work on their next raunchy high-concept comedy.

This time it'll be a trip in Hot Tub Time Machine, a project the studio has had for a while and sounds right up their alley. The Hollywood Reporter says Anders and Morris will co-direct the story of a group of grown-up guys who return to a hot tub where they partied in the past, only to find it transports them two decades into the past. They can turn anything into a time machine these days, don't you know?

Anders and Morris are also working on a remake of the camp-- summer camp, that is-- classic Meatballs, so hopefully one of these projects will stick with their talent and get them the recognition they deserve. Not that Sex Drive was any masterpiece, but Hollywood desperately needs someone other than Judd Apatow to be good at raunch comedy, and Anders and Morris may turn out to be the second string we've been waiting for.
