When I saw Kung Fu Panda in theaters, it felt like every preview before the movie was for a sports flick. At least two of them dealt with some sort of minority overcoming great odds to win the day. Maybe it was that oversaturation, but I can’t say I’m too excited about The Perfect Game, which tells the story of the first Mexican team to win the Little League World Series.
Really, my disinterest is a shame, because the movie appears to have a pretty solid cast, ranging from Cheech Marin to Capote’s Clifton Collins. Lost’s Emile de Ravin is listed among the cast, but I didn’t notice her standing out in the trailer anywhere.
Maybe I’m wrong and just burned out on sports movies. Even the Gloria Estefan anthem isn’t dong it for me though. Check out the trailer for the movie yourself and see if it interests you at all.
