You Need Serenity

I'm going to predict right now that absolutely no one is going to go see Joss Whedon's Serenity. It'll trundle into theaters, mainstream crowds will ignore it, it'll flop horribly, and audiences will happily attend the next terrible Rob Cohen movie. When it happens, it'll be a shame because Whedon's failed TV show turned movie is pretty damned good even if it is only Farscape-lite sans-Muppets.

But, those eternal optimists at Universal are taking their best stab at marketing the movie anyway, and have just released what is to be the final trailer for Serenity (Thanks to Matt Sinopoli for the link!). This of course raises the question: Where have the other ones been showing? Outside of the internet I sure haven't seen them. Maybe Universal isn't so optimistic after all. Why waste money on marketing that isn't going to do any damn good.

At least the few of us who will be watching can enjoy it. Below is a link to the new trailer for Joss Whedon's upcoming space adventure Serenity. Watch the trailer, and then make sure you're in a seat for the film's opening weekend. Good or not, odds are it may not have a second weekend.
