news:blended 5.3 - 5.9

Too lazy to read all the wonderful news our insightful crew scours the globe to bring you every day? Too outmoded to have an MP3 player for the podcast? Shame on you all! However, being the generous lot we are, welcome to news:blended, your weekly guide to the most interesting stories reported on Cinema Blend over the last seven days.

SATURDAY

In an effort to be good, we gave all news a day off on Saturday. Everyone breathed a little easier.

SUNDAY

Very nice.

Patty and Selma will be happy.

Did you see the latest The Dark Knight trailer? If so, you are probably as psyched about this upcoming movie as I am. I’m pretty psyched, and I don’t even usually use the word, psyched, that’s how psyched I am. I’m not psyched about a MacGyver movie. That’s not to say it won’t have its fans, I’m just not going to be one of them.

MONDAY

Now with less F words.

Stay classy CinemaBlend.

One thing that made a Terminator movie a Terminator movie was the violence, swearing, and general adult situations. Now comes word that Terminator 4 will have none of those things in order to get a PG-13 movie. I guess if you’re into violent swearing, this is bad news. There is some good news, though. It involves another Anchorman movie. I’m not a big fan of the first movie, but I’m happy Will Ferrell will be able to get back into action after his 2 month layoff.

TUESDAY

We tell you the plot so you don’t have to see the movie.

Nobody seems to think this is a good idea.

Tuesday was Scoopday. We scooped our brains out. ….Uh……that came out wrong. We had scoops on all sorts of stuff, from Batman and Iron Man to the possibility that Matthew McConaughey, of all people, might play Captain America. I’m excited to hear things about Batman and even Iron Man. Bongo Boy playing a superhero doesn’t do much for me, though.

WEDNESDAY

Rafe stands up for those who want more from a movie than the movie.

They have the initials JB, but are not the Godfather of Soul or anything like it.

Last week Josh Tyler said that viral marketing was literally making him ill. He was sick of it and said that if you liked it you were a crazy loser. Those weren’t his exact words or menaing, but he was against it. Rafe Telsch takes a more positive approach and says that Josh is a crazy loser. Although I think he actually used the words “respectfully disagree.” I don’t think anyone would disagree, respectfully or otherwise, that the Jonas Brothers are a popular singing group amongst the very young ladies of our nation. Disney is hoping to capitalize on that popularity and make buckets of money, which is certainly very agreeable.

THURSDAY

Routh can’t get off the funny pages.

Pretend pretend Tony Stark trying to be as rich as the real pretend Tony Stark.

Superhero info highlighted Thursday as both Superman and Iron Man were in the news. Actually, it was more just news about the actors who play those characters and what they might or might not do next. One may fight zombies and the other might receive delivery of a dumptruck full of money to do a sequel.

FRIDAY

I can’t stop laughing when I think about this.

I think this character was the inspiration for Daffy Duck’s Duck Dodgers.

Walter Becker directed Wild Hogs and it’s really hard for me to say much upbeat about that, so I won’t even try. Let’s just focus on the fact that he will be making a movie about a family that fights against toys that have come to life. It’s like Night at the Museum. Or Jumanji. Or Small Soldiers. I guess if you find something that works, stick with it. That’s also the plan behind yet another incarnation of movie serial staple and campy television relic, Buck Rogers. The problem is, if it doesn’t have a little Erin Gray, I’m not interested.

That’s all for another week of news blending. It’s like what you get at Jamba Juice, but cheaper and not quite as healthy. If you liked it or didn’t, leave some feedback.
