Grey's Anatomy Stars Teamed With Make-A-Wish And Made One Teen's Dream Come True

Grey's Anatomy stars play heroes on screen, and they can be heroes off-screen too. The Grey's cast and crew teamed up with Disney and the Make-A-Wish Foundation to fulfill the wish of a 17-year-old girl named Izzy. Izzy -- the perfect name for a Grey's Anatomy fan! -- wished to meet Dr. Meredith Grey herself, Ellen Pompeo. As you can see here, she got to do that and a whole lot more than just that:
Nice! Izzy got to meet actress Ellen Pompeo; plus Giacomo Gianniotti, who plays Meredith Grey's new boyfriend Dr. Andrew DeLuca; plus James Pickens Jr., who plays Dr. Richard Webber; Chandra Wilson as Dr. Miranda Bailey; Kelly McCreary as Dr. Maggie Pierce; and Jaicy Elliot, who plays intern Taryn.
Izzy was also able to wear some of the costumes, and use some of the props, and she even got to direct a scene from the episode -- giving her some early spoilers on what's ahead in Season 15.
Make-A-Wish thanked Ellen Pompeo and the Grey's Anatomy cast and crew for granting this wish:
Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo was happy to make Izzy's day, and seemed to have a great time herself:
As they noted in the video, Grey's Anatomy has helped grant 17 wishes so far, in the show's 15 seasons to date. Like many Grey's fans, the show has carried over into Izzy's real life; according to TV Guide, it's her goal to someday be a doctor herself. They didn't share details on Izzy's ailment, but of course we hope she stays healthy and strong and gets to achieve that goal.
Grey's Anatomy Season 15 recently set a new TV milestone as the longest-running medical drama. There's a lot still ahead this season. If only Izzy could reveal the spoilers she saw! Amelia is meant to have a showcase episode, and her (and Derek's) long-lost sister is finally showing up. We also know Owen's sister Megan is returning, plus all the drama continuing with the DeLuca family. It's a big season for extended family, apparently.
Grey's Anatomy Season 15 continues Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC as one of the many shows now airing in midseason 2019. ABC has yet to officially renew the show for Season 16, but it's fully expected to arrive in 2019-2020.
