Aliens' Lance Henriksen To Guest Star In NBC's Hannibal

While we're still waiting to learn the premiere date of NBC's anticipated drama Hannibal, news about the project continues to trickle in, particularly on the matter of the guest stars who will appear in the series, which stars Hugh Dancy and Mads Mikkelsen. The latest bit of casting brings Lance Henriksen to the table in a mysterious role.

Produced by Bryan Fuller, Hannibal will be set in modern day but will follow the start of the relationship between FBI criminal profiler Will Graham and forensic psychiatrist Dr. Hannibal Lecter, two characters featured in Thomas Harris' popular novels (Red Dragon, The Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal), who later become enemies. According to TVLine, Lance Henriksen is set to appear in an episode of the series. This casting news was confirmed by NBC, however there are unfortunately no details on who he'll be playing or how his character fits into the story.

As the site notes, Henriksen joins previously cast guest stars Gillian Anderson, Gina Torres and Caroline Dhavernas. So, if the plot and the core cast isn't enough to sell you on this series ahead of its premiere, perhaps some familiar faces from projects like The X-Files and Firefly will do the trick. And we can add Aliens and The Terminator to that list, as the two films are listed on Henriksen's extensive CV. His more recent gigs include voice roles in The Legend of Korra (voicing Lieutenant) and Tesler in the TV series TRON: Uprising.

There's still no premiere date set for Hannibal just yet, but TVLine says Robert Greenblatt mentioned that the series might debut by the end of the season, so hopefully we'll hear a confirmed date soon!
