Hank Moody’s current gig as a college professor seems doomed to end in disaster, but Californication has practically earned tenure from Showtime. Variety reports that the network has renewed the show for a fourth season, ordering 12 more episodes. It’s not surprising news, since the show’s first two episodes this season have been up 57% from last season.

Californication stars David Duchovny as troubled, womanizing novelist Hank Moody, whose women troubles are only eclipsed by his family troubles when it comes to raising his daughter. It airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
