Don Johnson In For NBC Hairstylist Drama

Don Johnson may have some holes in his IMDB page, but when he has the right material, he’s better than serviceable. How many people can actually claim to have been the star of two different very successful television programs? Bob Newhart, Thomas Gibson, William Shatner. That list could easily be run up to ten or fifteen, but the point is, not many can claim the feat. Now the former lead of Miami Vice and Nash Bridges is looking to add a third silver screen success to his resume.

According to Deadline, Johnson will topline NBC’s pilot A Mann’s World. In it, he’ll play a straight hairdresser working out of Beverly Hills with an eye toward picking up the building adjacent to his business in order to start a day spa. It may not be the crime fighter or snarky villain we've gotten use to, but the actor has always been both daring and handsome. You can't always kill two birds with one stone.

No one else has yet boarded the drama, but the producers had reportedly been honing in on him for the lead since the project’s inception. His name should help attract some more talent, putting the show in a solid position to at least heavily compete for one of those coveted final timeslots.
