Fox Cant Commit To A Full Season Of The OC

After weaker than average ratings last season, Fox has only ordered 16 episodes of ‘The OC’ this fall. The normal amount of episodes is 22. If the ratings improve the network will air the remaining episodes and the show could get picked up for another season. Fox president Peter Ligouri doesn’t want fans to be too distressed by this news.

Ligouri attributes part of the decision to only order a partial season to the fact that the show’s premiere will be delayed until after the baseball season in November. They would prefer to air new episodes of the show week after week for longer blocks rather than breaking up the season as some other shows attempted to do in the past.

Along with his attempt to reassure fans that they have nothing to worry about, he also adds that there will be some new twists this season. As ‘The OC’ will have some steep competition on Thursday nights, writers of the show might have to step it up a notch in order to keep their loyal fans interested.
