I know I’m not alone in thinking Glee’s Lea Michele is like a young Idina Menzel, not only in her physical appearance but also with regards to her amazing singing voice. So the news that the former Wicked and Rent star is in negotiations to play a recurring role in the show is beyond exciting.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Menzel is expected to appear in all of the final nine episodes of the first season, playing the coach of the rivaling glee club, Vocal Adrenaline.
Menzel’s spot on the series will make her the second original cast member of the Broadway show Wicked to appear on the show. Kristin Chenoweth, who starred opposite Menzel in Wicked, appeared in an episode earlier this season. The only thing better than Menzel being on the show at this point would be for Chenoweth to return and duet with her. Too much to hope for? Probably but hey, it's worth throwing out there, right?
