Prince Preens In Preview For Press

Call it the passion of the Prince. The man who at one point renamed himself an unpronounceable slightly altered male symbol, the Artist formerly known as the Artist formerly known as Prince, is certainly no stranger to flamboyance.

During the traditional press conference for Super Bowl performers on Thursday, the “Purple Rain” singer, dressed in flaming orange, gave a ten minute preview of his upcoming performance during half-time rather than answer questions. Well, he almost answered a question before launching into a riff of “Johnny B. Goode.”

Afterwards, Prince said to a roomful of journalists on their feet, "See you at the Super Bowl. Peace."

According to TV.com, the Purple One will perform the half-time show while Gloria Estefan takes the pre-game performance. Billy Joel will sing the national anthem. For a sampling of what possibly to expect from Prince in-between da Bears and Colts knocking heads in pursuit of the Lombardi Trophy, here’s him and Beyonce together at the 46th Annual Grammy Awards back in 2004:
