Rosie Reinvents The Variety Show This Thanksgiving Eve

It’s Rosie time! When is it ever not? Love her or hate her, the woman’s career’s got stamina! Rosie is currently working with NBC to put together a variety show set to air the night before Thanksgiving. Think Ed Sullivan or Carol Burnette only bigger.

The special, titled Rosie’s Variety Show will be one-hour long and jam-packed with entertain goodness. The event airs on Wednesday, November 26 from 8-9 PM ET and will broadcast live from New York and feature celebrity guests, musical acts, comedy skits and a huge primetime giveaway for the viewers and the people in the studio. Rosie will participate in various comical sketches, plus there will be a “topical monologue.”

Of the special, Craig Plestis, Exec-VP of Alternative Programming, Development and Specials at NBC Entertainment says, “We are excited to have Rosie back on TV at NBC. Together with Rosie, we are reinventing the variety show. This special will be first and best since it will be live and the audience will never know what will happen next.”

Considering it’s airing the night before Thanksgiving, I’m guessing a good chunk of the audience will include families, which is one of Rosie’s specialties (when she’s not ranting about Donald Trump, that is). It might be worth checking out. Or I may just spend the hour watching funny cat videos on youtube. I haven’t decided yet.
