More details have emerged on the super-secret ninth season premiere of Two and a Half Men. If you don’t want to know any of the specifics on Ashton Kutcher’s new character, read no further!
There’s been talk of the cast, crew and possibly even the audience being required to sign non-disclosure agreements to keep the details of the 9th Two and a Half Men premiere from leaking out, but that doesn’t seem to be doing much to keep some of the specifics from making their way to the public. Whether it’s from an online news outlet sharing their source’s info, or in this case, the CBS Entertainment president, I’m pretty sure I know much more about the “secret” Two and a Half Men season premiere than I do most of the other returning shows this year.
Entertainment Weekly posted a story today, which addresses CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler’s thoughts on what she learned from Charlie Sheen. Tassler used the question as an opportunity to praise Ashton Kutcher, rather than to tear down Sheen, which was probably a wise choice, considering how many Team Sheen fans there are out there, and how many people might be skeptical about the start of the Kutcher year(s) of Men. Following her lengthy response about how professional, funny, talented and gifted Kutcher is, Kessler spoke in specifics on Kutcher’s new role.
His name is Walden Schmidt and he’s an “internet billionaire with a broken heart. It will be two-parter over two weeks.”
The two-parter mention falls in line with what was reported earlier this week, which included the rumors that Sheen’s character Charlie Harper will be dead and mourned in the season opener, and that Kutcher will be among the people appearing to potentially buy Charlie Harper's house. Tassler wouldn’t confirm the rumor about Harper's funeral, but she did say it will be a “big event.”
