Three Casting Additions For 24 Movie

Those of us who are eagerly anticipating the return of 24, which unfortunately wont happen until January of 2009. But on the plus side, there will also be a 24 TV movie airing this fall that will serve as a prequel to the seventh season. Some casting announcements were recently made about the prequel.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Eric Lively, Tony Todd and Gil Bellows have all signed on for the movie. Bellows, whom you might remember from his role as Billy Allen Thomas in the popular 90’s series, Ally McBeal, will play the role of a State Department officer who serves Bauer with a subpoena to appear before the Senate.

Tony Todd, who was recently seen in numerous episodes of NBC’s Chuck in his role as CIA Director Graham, will play a “cruel African dictator” Gen. Juma.

And finally, Eric Lively was cast to play the president’s son. Lively played a role on the series, The L Word. He’s also the brother of two other notable Lively’s. If you were around in the 80’s, you might recall his sister Robyn Lively from her roles in Teen Witch and The Karate Kid III. And if the 80’s were before your time then perhaps you’re more familiar with another one of Eric Lively’s siblings, Blake Lively (Gossip Girl, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants).
