Weeds Producers Open Arsenal Of Singers

One of the coolest things about Showtime’s pot dramedy ‘Weeds’, is the opening theme song, covered by some of today’s most eclectic and wonderful singers and songstresses. Last season’s guest conductors included the likes of Elvis Costello, Death Cab For Cutie, and Englebert Humperdinck. This year will see producers tap another bevy of talented musicians, once again doing their own renditions of the Malvina Reynolds classic Little Boxes.

According to Zap2It.com, Randy Newman, The Shins, Joan Baez, Billy Bob Thornton, and Donovan are just a few who will carry the little boxes forward. On first glance, Thornton may seem like a peculiar choice; however, he’s definitely not a foreigner to the music scene. He’s released three albums, including one titled “Hobo”, and he’s currently working on a fourth.

‘Weeds’ kicks off its fourth season on August 13th. Expect some stoner humor, great acting, encapsulating drama, and lots of hot Mary-Kate Olsen action.
