EA announced today that the long-running Need for Speed franchise's sales have passed the 100 million mark. In the midst of the flashy statistics dump, they also confirmed the release window for free-to-play PC racer Need For Speed: World Online.
"World Online will begin the beta process in Taiwan this winter and will open to players around the world in fall 2010," states the press release. Their previous estimate for North America was "Winter 2010" so it seems their plans haven't changed much. Considering how little we've heard about the game recently, though, it seemed possible that a delay was in the cards. But enough about new games and releases. Did you know that if you laid out every sold copy of Need for Speed end-to-end, it would span 173,609 football fields? |
