Even if you don't plan to celebrate Halloween, there's no reason why your virtual marionettes can't. EA is offering free Halloween-themed content for The Sims 3.

The free items are now available for download through the official Sims 3 site. There are six items to grab, most of them furniture. For example, there's a Jack-o-Lantern lamp and a ghost-shaped mirror. If you feel cursing your Sim with bad luck, you can add a black cat to his place as well.

Given the strong sales of Sims 3, EA's not sweating the revenue they could've pulled in from these items. The first expansion to Sims 3, World Adventures, arrives next month and should pull in quite a bit more money for them.
