Splinter Cell: Conviction Dev Diary From PAX '09

published: 2009-09-20 11:27:25
Ubisoft’s Splinter Cell: Conviction development team released a new developer’s diary about their experience at the Penny Arcade Expo this year, with Splinter Cell: Conviction on display. The new video features a lot of the content that’s already been on display, with the exception of a few new set pieces.

The mark and execute feature is further showcased in this dev diary, with Sam Fisher finally looking like a bonafide, kick-butt spy. Also, is it me or does Sam really seem to mimic Jason Bourne in Conviction? Actually, it seems more like Solid Snake is tired and old, but gets tossed into the same conspiracy as Bourne and thus, the new Sam Fisher is born.

Anyway, the game sports in-game cinematic sequences (no long briefing screens and dialogue) and the fight sequences (while cinematic) are actually player controlled as they progress the story or reveal specific information. The game looks really solid and it’s due out early 2010 for PC and Xbox 360.

You can check out the video below or visit the Official Website for more info on the game. For more gaming news, updates, media and insight, be sure to stay tuned in with Blend Games.
