Some time after Thanksgiving, Punisher: War Zone reviews should begin arriving. Early buzz hasn’t been great, but after trying to get this character right three times, you’d think they’d get it right at least once, if only by accident.
Nothing about the film looks particularly exciting though. Colorful, but not exciting. For instance, take a look at this new batch of Punisher images just released by Lionsgate. They include your first look at the movie’s villain, I think his name is Jigsaw (not that Jigsaw), and also Wayne Knight, who appears to be playing himself. Ok, he’s probably not playing himself, but how cool would that be if Wayne Knight was the real bad guy of this film? He’d be like a fat, weak, Lex Luthor. The perfect foil for the cinematically impotent Punisher.

So far, the trailers are ten times better than the Thomas Jane movie!
I agree that cinematically, Castle doesn't have much appeal.
But if you're gonna make the movie, make it right. No bow and arrows, please, no explosions that form a skull, no back-story, no cheese.
Find the bad guys, torture them to discover their bosses' whereabouts, pull out the artillery and execute everybody.
Simple.
Cinematically impotent perhaps, but viscerally pleasurable. Those bastiches had it comin'.
The trailers (apart from the thrashing heavy metal) are NOT disappointing me.
Bring on The Punisher.
