Disaster Movie Trailer![]()
I know I’ve said this before, but it bears repeating: Don’t call your parody flick Disaster Movie if you aren’t actually going to go through the trouble to parody disaster movies. Airplane! wasn’t a film which made fun of Star Wars. Young Frankenstein wasn’t written to mock Easy Rider. So why the hell is Disaster Movie making fun of superhero movies? I’ll tell you why: because actually spoofing disaster movies might take a little effort, and it’s easier just to rewrite whichever movie the guys responsible for this thing saw last, adding in fart jokes as they go.
The next lame-ass parody flick’s new trailer is here, and ten seconds in you’ll see what I’m talking about. There’s a half-hearted effort to set up some sort of disaster, but by the trailer’s second frame they’ve already resorted to limp-wristed assaults on superhero movies and whatever else is laying around out there for them to capitalize on. This thing looks awful. Really awful. Dropping cows on Iron Man is not in and of itself, comedy. It’s just awful. It may not actually be about disasters, but it certainly qualifies as one. Here’s the trailer. See the awful, and then avoid Disaster Movie at all costs: |
