The Wachowskis are one of the more admirable forces in Hollywood. Their vision remains unaffected by a viewing audience that often chastises them for their films, including their bloated novel adaptations; the terrible machine-filled sequels; and their reboot of one of the most vapid cartoons in history. Even as essentially useless a couple of their films may be, the rest are quite memorable and work on a technical level that other directors only dream of. And without V for Vendetta, the face of Anonymous would be so drab.

Variety reports the Wachowski's latest project, the sci-fi action flick Jupiter Ascending has added yet another cast member to its fleet, this time the young, handsome actor Douglas Booth. Perhaps the directors felt that the already-cast Channing Tatum wasn’t young and handsome enough? Recently, Booth has been busy with many characters from history's literature, playing David Copperfield’s Hamm in In Love With Dickens; Pip in the BBC’s Great Expectations; Romeo in Carlo Carlei’s upcoming Romeo and Juliet; and Shem in Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming epic Noah. He was recently seen in more modern clothes in the Miley Cyrus shitfest LOL. Unfortunately, details about his Jupiter Ascending character are unavailable, but I'd like to start a rumor that he'll be playing Oliver Twist or the Count of Monte Cristo.

Booth is the fifth notable name recently added the cast. He joins Tatum, Mila Kunis, Sean Bean, and Eddie Redmayne, who you may have been introduced to recently in Les Miserables. Jupiter Ascending, the first 3D film for the Wachowskis, will begin filming later this year for a 2014 release.

The film takes place is a futuristic society ruled by an immortal Queen of the Universe. Kunis will play a Russian immigrant pulling Cinderella duties until it’s discovered she contains the same perfect genetic makeup as the Queen, thus threatening her rule. Presumably, battles will happen and Sean Bean will end up being far, far less immortal than the Queen...
