Emma Stone Up For Cocaine Comedy Little White Corvette![]()
Thanks to The Help and her upcoming role in Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man, Emma Stone likely has the pick of the litter when it comes to potential scripts. According to Deadline, the one she has chosen to do next is Little White Corvette.
Scripted by Michael Diliberti and David Branson Smith, Corvette is described as “a two-hander” that follows a nerdy boy and his insane older sister (Stone, we assume) who jet set to Miami in hopes of selling off a massive stash of cocaine that they discover in the trunk of their late father’s car. Now that’s an inheritance! The comedy would shoot this summer, and is targeting a 2013 release date. Diliberti wrote last summer’s 30 Minutes of Less with Jesse Eisenberg and Aziz Ansari. Which is refreshing, because after a string of relatively dramatic projects, I’m ready for Stone to get back to wacky comedy. She proved to be very, very funny in such comedies as Zombieland and Easys A, but hasn’t been able to flex her funny bone for The Help or the upcoming period crime thriller, Gangster Squad. Hopefully this will give her a chance. Now we’d like to find out who’ll direct, and who will be cast as the nerdy teenage brother who gets to play opposite Stone. Maybe they’ll go with a newcomer? Whomever it is, we hope they’ll be able to keep up with her pacing, because when Stone gets her engine revved up, she’s extremely talented and funny. |
