This Is The End Reveals Its Demons In New Red Band TV Spot
It's difficult to sell a movie like Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's This Is The End to wide audiences. After all, the film not only contains the horror elements that come along with a movie about the biblical apocalypse, but is also filled with nothing but characters who just want to smoke weed, eat junk food and curse at their friends. Fortunately the film has largely been promoted to the audiences its meant for - adults - and as a result we've seen a good number of red band trailers (including a one disguised as a trailer for Pineapple Express 2). Today Yahoo! delivers yet another R-rated look.
Not only does this trailer have plenty of new footage that hasn't been featured in any of the other previews, this is also the first time that we've seen any of the film's CGI demons - which actually look fairly impressive. I wonder if the reveal of the creatures was delayed so that the movie would have a bit of secrecy, or because they've been hard at work in post-production fully rendering them and making sure that they would look awesome for the final cut. While I can't talk about it at length, I actually saw the film at a screening last night and thought it was absolutely hysterical - audiences are in for a treat.
Rogen and Goldberg's directorial debut, the film has all of its stars playing versions of themselves and begins as Jay Baruchel flies into Los Angeles to spend some time with his best friend, Seth Rogen. After a bit of pushing, Seth gets Jay to attend a party at James Franco's house - only the festivities are interrupted when the Biblical apocalypse begins to unfold. Jay and Seth end up being trapped with James, Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson, and Danny McBride and must find some way to survive.
This Is The End will be in theaters June 12th.
