G.I. Joe: Retaliation Ninja Clip Has Blindfolds, Blade Work And Jinx
The metallic sound of samurai swords slicing through the air. That’s what I’m taking away from the latest clip from Jon M. Chu’s G.I. Joe: Retaliation. We’ve seen ninja Kung Fu fights in big-screen epics before, but I don’t recall them sounding quite like this. The clip was posted on IGN, and is a must-watch if you are getting pumped for the arrival of Chu’s sequel, which hits theaters next week.
Fans have been waiting longer than expected for the follow up to Stephen Sommers’ hit, G.I. Joe. It was last May when Paramount decided to push the sequel out of Summer 2012 and retrofit the movie to 3D. Since then, we have been building toward the movie’s release with viral videos, posters and extended previews attached to theatrical prints of Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters.
What do we know of the sequel? Chu is adding massive cast members Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Bruce Willis as the original “Joe.” They’ll join existing franchise stars Channing Tatum, Adrianne Palicki and Ray Park, who plays Snake Eyes in the above clip. And the movie is a vengeance flick, with the surviving G.I. Joe members banding together to stop the evil forces of Cobra after the group assumes control of the White House and tries to wipe the Joe troops off the face of our planet.
G.I. Joe: Retaliation will be opening in theaters one day earlier than expected: March 28. Will you enlist in Chu’s army?
