If, like me, you’ve been meaning to give The Hunger Games a reread because the recent updates have you trying to remember who was who in the first book, this interactive photo may actually be just the crash-course you need to put names-to-faces-to-which tribute is which.

The Hunger Games tells the story of a future that has the country divided by districts and run by “the Capitol.” Each year, two kids from each district are made to be “tributes” and set to face off against the other districts’ tributes to fight to the death. Using their wits, weapons and the wooded playing field in which they’re set, it’s kill or be killed.

Unsurprisingly, the cast of the movie is exceptionally good looking. That’s not exactly news and we saw just how good they’re looking in character in the recently released posters for the first big-screen installment of the popular Suzanne Collins novel.

Vanity Fair has an interactive cast-photo of all of the most notable tributes set to face off against District 12’s Katniss and Peeta. They’re all out of costume and looking fresh-faced and well dressed, which kind of makes the photo look as though it’s a page torn from a clothing catalog.

If you mouse-over each of the characters, a pop-up tells you who the actor is, who they’re playing and a bit of information about them. Be warned though, if you haven’t read the book! The information includes how things end for certain characters, so if you’re trying to avoid spoilers, don’t read the text.

Check the photo out here.

On a random aside, those of you familiar with the books will note that there’s one character who doesn’t quite fit in. Everyone but Liam Hemsworth’s Gale is a tribute. Gale is the only character among the group that isn’t a part of the game. But he gets a pass, because he’s Katniss’ best friend, plus technically, Vanity Fair is calling this “The Young Cast of The Hunger Games, so he does fit the bill there, even if he’s the only non-Tribute of the bunch.

The Hunger Games hits theaters March 23, 2012. More information, photos, etc can be found in our film database here.

Update:
Vanity Fair sent along the cover to the issue associated with the above Hunger Games content. It doesn't say anything about the film on the cover, but you can feast your eyes on the lovely Scarlett Johannson.
