2012 doesn’t seem to be one of those movies that get better when viewed in a different language. But then again, booms and bangs and kablamos are all part of the universal language of Awesome, which is pretty much all 2012 consists of. In fact, I’m not really sure why Roland Emmerich spent any money on name actors to try to force some sort of cheap plot when all he seems to be doing in this film for two and a half hours is blowing up everything he didn’t get a chance to in his other movies.

So what does this look like? Sony released has the new Japanese trailer for 2012, which contains a few explosions and a look at a profound connection between the father and son characters, as they travel across the world in an attempt to outrun fate. Kidding. There are just explosions. Check it out:
