Most of you probably know Javier Bardem as the scariest fucking thing ever to wear a Dutch boy haircut, but he’s also capable of, well, not being evil. In fact I almost think I preferred him as the oversexed lothario in Woody Allen’s Vicky Christina Barcelona, so it’s great to see that his No Country success hasn’t left him typecast as the new Darth Vader. In fact, his next movie has him romancing Julia Roberts.

The film is Eat, Pray, Love and Variety says Bardem is joining the cast to play Felipe, a man Roberts’ character meets and falls in love with while on a marriage-ending voice of discovery. He’s her rebound guy. Also involved is Richard Jenkins, playing a Texan Roberts meets at an Indian ashram.
