Jennifer Lawrence Lacks Social Skills In New Clip From Silver Linings Playbook
Silver Linings Playbook is looking like it could be one of the big award season contenders this year. Just two years after The Fighter took home a few pieces of hardware at the Academy Awards, writer/director David O. Russell is back and his newest title is getting a ton of buzz. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last month and blew the doors off the place, with people praising its performances and script. There's still a bit of a wait until it will hitting US theaters, but today we have a new extended look at the movie.
The new clip showcases stars Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, and Julia Stiles enjoying a nice dinner when things get a bit awkward. I guess this is why our moms always told us not to talk about our mood altering drugs at the table. Check out the preview below.
Based on the novel by Matthew Quick, Silver Linings Playbook tells the story of Pat Solitano (Cooper), a teacher who has just been released from a mental institution after a long stay. Living back home with his parents, he does his best to reconcile his relationship with his ex-wife while also meeting his much younger neighbor (Lawrence) who takes an interest in him and has some problems of her own. The supporting cast includes Robert De Niro, Jacki Weaver, Chris Tucker, and Shea Whigham. The movie will be in theaters on November 21st, but while you wait you can see more from it in our Blend Film Database.
