Motherhood Trailer: Uma Thurman Blogs Off Her Mommy Stress

This has gone too far. Movies should not be made about bloggers. They aren’t interesting. Scratch that, we aren’t interesting. If we were, the endless stream of twitterfights engaged in by insecure, egotistical bloggers on a daily basis would be front page news, instead of something everyone tries to ignore as the price that must be paid to get to legitimate movie news. Take Julie & Julia. Great movie… almost. That is except for the boring parts where Amy Adams plays a blogger who hogs screen time which should have gone to the far more interesting Meryl Streep as Julia Child.

So here’s another blogger movie. In Motherhood Uma Thurman plays a frazzled mom who starts a blog about her struggles. The blog takes off, probably because it allows other frazzled moms to live vicariously through her as she gets stressed and then acts out their dreams of telling people off. It’s the stressed out mom equivalent of what girl on girl porn is to dudes. New term alert! Mommy porn! Wait, I think that’s already been taken and it means something horrible. Don’t Google it! Whatever you call it, Uma Thurman lashing out and standing up for stay at home mommy dignity is sure to get at least a few women in theaters. Blogging, not so much.
