Six Clips From Horror Parody Stan Helsing

By Katey Rich: 2009-10-21 22:19:17
This Halloween, in case you're not up for the actual scares of a new Saw movie or Trick 'r Treat on DVD, you have Stan Helsing, a movie advertised as "from a producer of Scary Movie" and taking the basic concept of the Epic Movie/Date Movie franchise and applying it to horror villains. No, I'm not really sure how it's actually different from the Scary Movie movies.

But maybe you can figure it out by watching the six clips from below, showing off some of the goofier scenes of the movie, and not necessarily the bloodier ones. The previews make it seem like the plot revolves around the arrival of a bunch of different famous horror villains (Jason, Freddy Krueger, Leatherface, all the rest) but most of the clips focus around your average bar hijinks. I'm betting on the usual mixed bag of horror parodies, but with the movie in theaters this weekend and then on DVD less than a week later, in time for Halloween, you don't necessarily have to take much of a risk to try it out. Check out the six clips below.
