Transformers Super Bowl Teaser Has A Warning From Optimus Prime
You'll have to look closely, and at the exact right moment, but Optimus Prime is going to show up on your TV during the Super Bowl and warn that you-- indeed, all humans everywhere-- are in great danger. Do not be alarmed, and do not assume that a piece of the Allspark has somehow found its way into your pile of clean laundry. Also don't assume that this is a viral ad to kick off production on Transformers 4 either. In fact, check out the very short teaser for the TV spot below and all mysteries will be revealed.
Yes, that is in fact an ad for a theme park ride, specifically "Transformers The Ride 3D," which bows at Universal Studios Hollywood in May. When the full spot airs during the Super Bowl it will point you to the website Prepare For Battle, which hosts another video, this one looking a whole lot like the video you'll watch when waiting in line for the ride at Universal Studios. Check it out below:
As you might guess from the "February 4" hint at the end, that video is actually the beginning of an online game, in which according to the press release, "fans and theme park enthusiasts will compete to rise up the military ranks by successfully completing missions involving exclusive videos, downloads and trivia." Winners of the game can get Transformers collectibles as well as a trip to Hollywood to visit the park themselves.
The details on the ride itself are still a little under wraps, since presumably they want to save the secret a while longer, but here are the details we got from the press release. Check those out below, and remember to temper your expectations when Optimus Prime visits during the Super Bowl. This time, he hasn't brought Sam Witwicky with him. Then again, that might be a good thing.
The thrill ride will tell a new “TRANSFORMERS” story using original, photo-realistic 3D-HD media, sophisticated special effects masterminded by Industrial Light & Magic, and one of the most elaborate roaming flight simulator ride systems ever created.
