If you believe the buzz from last night, Christoph Waltz hosted the best SNL of the entire season-- a pretty amazing accomplishment even for someone who already has an oscar and who's nominated for another one. And even though Django Unchained has been in theaters for month, one of the best sketches of the night was a parody of Django as well as Inglourious Basterds, including a perfect Brad Pitt-as-Aldo-Raine impression from Taran Killam. But the highlight, obviously, was Waltz's performance as Jesus-- oh, excuse me, Djesus.

"The H is silent." I can't imagine how much fun the SNL writers had picking up lines from both Django Unchained and Inglourious Basterds and somehow working this into a story about Jesus. For all I know it started with the idea of the pull quote "Less violent than The Passion of the Christ" and went from there. With Quentin Tarantino still out there taking about making a trilogy of revisionist historical revenge films, he might now have an idea for how to make the life and death of Christ a whole lot more, well, badass.

Let us know in the comments if you think Waltz was as great as everybody said-- and if you think, somehow, this might boost his chances of taking home an Oscar next Sunday. We still think it belongs to Tommy Lee Jones, but hey, you never know.
