Watch Mike Myers Teach Kevin Kline About Oscar Etiquette
If you've been paying attention to our coverage, you may have noticed that the 84th Academy Awards are this Sunday. The web is already alive with everyone's opinions of the nominees and prognostications about who will win, but ABC and the AMPAS have once again turned to Funny or Die to help create more buzz, even if the last commercial for the awards ceremony didn't receive the warmest reception. But instead of Megan Fox and Josh Duhamel, this time they've brought in Academy Award winner Kevin Kline and, uh, Academy Award presenter Mike Myers to share some tips about Oscar etiquette.

The skit actually worked for me a lot more than I expected. It's a little too long, dragging a bit in the middle, but they managed to produce a few solid laughs (I'm the sucker who totally fell for the 'crushed nuts' bit). I even liked the not-so-subtle allusions to previous Oscar films like My Fair Lady. And besides, Kevin Kline is worth watching in just about anything and I especially love when he tries his hand at comedy. Don't forget, he's one of the few actors to receive an Academy Award for a comedic turn, thanks to his brilliant supporting performance as Otto in A Fish Called Wanda. Mike Myers has been less of a pleasure of late and he's doing a lot of his usual character work here as the combed-over Sir Cecil but, apart from a few moments when his previous characters came through, he manages to carry the sketch quite well. Is this a taste of what we have in store with the Billy Crystal hosted Awards show this weekend? We'll find out Sunday and be sure to join us for our live blog.
The 84th Annual Academy Awards air Sunday, February 26 at 7 p.m. ET on ABC.
