The Tony Awards might not be as acclaimed as the Oscars or as pop culturally relevant as the Emmys, but there are few award shows which please a more rabid group of fans. People who love the theater tend to really love the theater, and considering the joy Neil Patrick Harris seems to derive from hosting the ceremony, he should definitely be included among that joyful lot.

Tonight’s festivities honored plenty of different productions, but overall, the night belonged to Once. The stage adaptation of the 2006 film took home eight honors including the coveted Best Book, which was handed to Enda Walsh. Acclaimed helmer Mike Nichols also had a wonderful evening, as he won best direction of a play for Death Of A Salesman. Newsies, Peter and the Starcatcher and Nice Work If You Can Get It all snagged multiple prizes as well.
