FX Orders Legit Comedy By Australian Comedian Jim Jeffries

While some networks will continue to mine the United Kingdom for comedy that may work in a U.S. TV series, FX appears to have its sights set on Australia. As Wilfred appears to have settled in nicely on the cable network, earning itself a second season, now FX has ordered a comedy presentation by Aussie comedian Jim Jeffries.

According to Deadline FX has given the greenlight to a comedy presentation called Legit, which will star Australian comedian Jim Jeffries. The pilot, which will be executive produced and directed by Peter O’Fallon (House, Prison Break), “centers on misanthrope (Jeffries) trying to go legit.”

Should this pilot go to series, Jeffries will join Wilfred's Jason Gann as another funny Australian bringing his sense of humor and talent to the network. A quick YouTube search for Jeffries’ stand-up work yielded a number of videos, which do well to hint at the kind of comedy he prefers. This clip, titled “Slutty girlfriend” is one of the tamer sounding bits from what I’ve seen (contains strong language).
