The Flash And Arrow Universe Is About To Make Its Villains Way Stronger, Get The Details

flash arrow crossover

There has been no shortage of villains on Arrow and The Flash over the years, from the weekly metahumans and vagrants to the season-capping big bads. Now, the combined TV universe is going huge with some of those most familiar faces by combining a handful of them into a superteam of villains that will serve as the antagonists in Legends of Tomorrow Season 2. Their name: The Legion of Doom. Not the wrestling tag team.

TV's biggest gang of superheroes will have to try and take down many baddies who were foiled by our heroes (these and others) in the past. At this point, a full list of characters isn't available, but it was revealed at the Legends of Tomorrow panel at Comic-Con today that we will definitely be seeing John Barrowman's Malcolm Merlyn returning for the Legion of Doom (which explains his multi-headed contract.) As well, we will see Wentworth Miller's Captain Cold coming back as a past version of himself, along with Matt Lesher reprising the role of Eobard Thawne. And Arrow's latest villain, the magical Damien Darhk, will also return in some capacity.

We've gotten quite used to seeing Captain Cold banging around with the titular super-squad, and Damien Darhk had a big connection with Vandal Savage in Season 1, but it will be fascinating to see how Merlyn and Reverse-Flash fit into this time-travel scenario. Especially since the latter is already seasoned in it. I want to see some meaty scenes between these guys and Rip.

It won't just be villainous teams coming to Season 2, though, as the Season 1 finale introduced Patrick J. Adams' Hourman to audiences, opening up a link to the comic hero group Justice Society of America. It was also revealed today that the show is casting for the Justice Society characters Star Girl, Dr. Mid-Nite and Obsidian, just in case you thought there wasn't room for more powered people on this show.

With its dangerous and powerful new threat ahead, Legends of Tomorrow will hopefully add some more danger-driven fun when it returns to The CW for Season 2 on Thursday, October 13.
