American Idol Season 13 Promos Tease Auditions And Judges But No Actual Singing
American Idol has begun churning out promos for its upcoming thirteenth season, including three that debuted online today and tease the audition process, but seem to go out of their way to keep us from hearing any of the actual voices of this year’s crop of Idol hopefuls, even going so far as the mute out or play music over the shots of people singing. I guess we’ll have to wait until we get a bit closer to the Season 13 debut for any substantial footage from the auditions. In the meantime, Fox seems content to remind us that American Idol is the singing competition with a history of success stories in terms of the post-Idol careers of some of its contestants. See the timeline promo for evidence of that, or watch the video below:
The first video teases artists getting tuned up and ready to sing (or scream). The second one reminds us that Idol is a series of winners, whether or not they actually win their season. And This next one teases the chemistry…
With Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban set up at the judges table this year, it’ll be exciting to see how their chemistry gels. All signs point to them getting along, which is more than can be said about Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj last year. The video below gives us a look at some of the judges bantering this season…
American Idol premieres Wednesday, January 15 at 8/7c on Fox.
