Three episodes left for Season 7 of Dexter! My, how the time flies. And things are certainly set up for a big finish as Dexter continues to play with fire. He's been doing that all season and fittingly enough, now we have a new villain to contend with who actually likes to play with fire… or kill with it. The preview for next Sunday's episode suggests that the Phantom has only gotten started.
Spoilers if you haven't seen the "Helter Skelter" episode of Dexter!
Isaak is dead, which concludes one of the bigger arcs of the season, but with so many other things going on in Dexter these days, there's still plenty of story left to work with as the season draws to a close. In addition to wrapping up the Isaak story, last night's episode also included the introduction of an arsonist already being referred to as the Phantom. Based on the preview for next week's episode, it looks like Dexter's already making a place for this guy at the table.
The Phantom is only one of the issues set to be explored in "The Dark… Whatever." We also have LaGuerta openly discussing Dexter as a possible candidate for the Bay Harbor Butcher. And then there's Hannah, who seems to be questioning whether Dexter's "Dark Passenger" is an actual thing, which could explain the title. And speaking of Hannah, her father, whom we learned tossed her into the water and nearly killed her when she was young, is in town and Dexter's throwing around threats.
I don't trust Hannah, so I wouldn't be surprised if that story (and whatever else she tells Dexter about her father) turned out to be embellished or completely false. We'll find out…
Dexter airs Sundays at 9:00 p.m. ET on Showtime. Read our full breakdown of Sunday's "Helter Skelter" here.
