Fox Signs Deal With Eliza Dushku

It looks like the Fox network has staked a claim on Eliza Dushku. Dushku is no stranger to the Fox network, having starred in Tru Calling as well as having a role in a pilot for a new series called Nurses. Whether its work on a current series or a role in a new series, Fox has struck a development deal with Dushku to keep her working with the network on future projects.

The Hollywood Reporter stated that Fox Broadcasting Co. and 20th Century Fox signed a deal with Dushku offering her a figure in the “mid to high six figures.” In addition to the fee, they’ll be working on tailor made projects for her as well ask approaching her with scripts and roles for current shows.

Regarding the deal, Fox Entertainment chairman Peter Liguori said, She's absolutely charismatic onscreen; she is riveting, she is fresh, she is smart, (and) she is unbelievably feminine while also having that toughness to her. She's a TV star, but most definitely we know she's a Fox star.”.

Dushku’s been acting in major films since she was a kid. As a youngster, she made her film debut in That Night. She went on to be in True Lies and worked with fellow Buffy star, Amber Benson in Bye Bye Love. It wasn’t until she joined the cast of Buffy The Vampire Slayer in the series’ third season that she really began to make a name for herself. Now that she’s been adopted by Fox, it probably wont be long before we see her starring in another show.

While this is definitely good news for Dushku, Fox is becoming known for squashing new shows after only a handful of episodes. Hopefully whatever show Dushku ends up starring in will be allowed to stay on the air long enough to develop a following.
