Following another big death on True Blood, we're forced to face the reality that anyone can die on this series in its final season. Will we see another major character death on the HBO drama next Sunday night when "Death is Not the End" airs? Well, there are certainly plenty who are in harm's way, Arlene included. Spoilers if you're not caught up on True Blood through Season 7, Episode 3 ("Fire in the Hole")!
Here's a question based on the preview for "Death is not the End" and the conversation Sookie and Bill had in the car during last night's episode. Are we supposed to be buying Bill's nice-guy act? Or does he have some big bad scheme in place. What he said to Sookie about basically being reset might explain his nicer attitude, but I still can't help but wonder if he has some Sookie-related endgame in the works.
Moving on to other matters, will Arlene and Nicole survive their plight? Or are we in for another upsetting loss? The preview also teased some issues with Jason and Sam, and a fight between James and Jessica. She won't feed, so she won't heal? That's not good. But based on the episode description for "Death is Not the End," Bill and Jessica get nourishment from "unexpected sources."
Episode #74: “Death Is Not the End”
Think Adilyn will be the source of nourishment for Jessica? The two seem to be buddying up, despite their bloody past. Perhaps James was rushing off to retrieve the part-faerie woman who might be able to get Jessica on the fast-track to healthy after getting shot during Sunday's episode.
And then there's Pam and Eric. The clock is ticking for Eric, but Pam successfully got him to abandon his efforts to let his time run out in peace by telling him that Sarah Newlin was still alive. It looks like Eric's up for pursuing her, and next week we'll see what brought Pam and Eric to Shreveport and Louisiana. The Pam/Eric flashbacks might be my favorite part about this season. I'd watch a whole show about those two.
In other news, HBO pulled a great little fake-out on Facebook and Instagram this past weekend by posting this video of Nelsan Ellis saying farewell...
That gave us good reason to consider that maybe Lafayette's time was up. And maybe his days are numbered. Who knows? But it was Alcide who met his demise in last night's episode. RIP Alcide.
True Blood airs Sunday at 9:00 p.m. Et on HBO.
