The Whitney Houston Biopic Crushed On Lifetime, Get The Specifics
Lifetime premiered another of its made-for-TV movies this weekend. This time it was a flick focusing on diva singer Whitney Houston during her marriage to R&B star Bobby Brown. The Yaya DeCosta and Arlen Escapeta starrer took some criticism before it aired, but that may have only helped the ratings for Whitney.

Whitney's Chris D'Elia Joins NBC's Undateable Pilot
Chris D’Elia is lining up a back-up gig in case Whitney doesn’t make it. The co-star of NBC’s sophomore series has signed on for a new NBC pilot, Undateable, which will be in second position to his current role opposite Whitney Cummings.

Whitney Gets An Order For 3 More Episodes
Whitney has managed to inch its way closer to what almost looks like a full second season order, but it's not quite there - yet, anyway. The NBC comedy, which was nearly doomed to Friday nights along with Community for its second season, has been given an order for three more episodes, tacked onto its original 13-episode order for Season 2.

Whitney Season 2 Promo: Hey Whitney!
Those of us waiting for the return of Community still have a while to go before the NBC comedy series returns, but Whitney fans have only to wait until next Wednesday to see the series back on television. After a bit of schedule reshuffling, NBC made room for it on Wednesday nights. (RIP Animal Practice).

Animal Practice Gets Cancelled As NBC Makes Room For Whitney
In one of the least shocking moves of the 2012-2013 television season, NBC has decided to cancel freshman comedy Animal Practice. NBC initially had high hopes for the program, even premiering the show in one of the network’s few (and coveted) post-Olympics timeslots. However, each week the ratings for the show faltered a little more, and ultimately, NBC decided the show wasn’t worth keeping on the schedule.

Community And Whitney Cut From NBC's Schedule Until Further Notice
Despite a possible silver-lining, the cold hard truth is that the fourth season of Community will not be premiering next Friday night as originally planned. Oh, and there's the chilly soft truth that Whitney won't be back for its second season on October 19 either.

NBC 2012-2013 Primetime Schedule Moves Community To Fridays With Whitney
After a flood of renewals and cancellations, we now have our first look at what the fall will look like for network TV, at least as far as NBC is concerned. Added to the line-up are new dramas Revolution and Chicago Fire, along with comedies Go On and The New Normal. There's also a pretty major scheduling change for Community that doesn't look good.

30 Rock Likely To Return For One More Season, Updates On Community, Whitney, Parks And Rec
As we hear the good news released for some new TV comedies headed to NBC, we're left to wonder what will become of the currently airing shows. Will they be back next fall, or left off the line-up come next week when NBC unveils their full 2012-2013 programming. There are some vague updates on some NBC comedies, most of which sound fairly optimistic.

NBC Gives Sarah Silverman Pilot The Green Light
Back in August news broke that NBC won the bidding war for Sarah Silverman’s comedy pilot. Things appear to be moving in the right direction for the project, which is loosely based on Silverman’s life, as NBC has picked it up up to pilot. The pilot will have Silverman writing alongside Dan Sterling and Jon Schroeder, both of whom wrote for Comedy Central’s The Sarah Silverman Show.

NBC's Up All Night May Be Moving To Thursdays
It’s an NBC miracle! Or it will be, if this rumor turns out to be true. Since the start of the fall TV season, I’ve been thinking that Up All Night belongs on Thursday nights with the other single-camera comedies, while Whitney should be put somewhere else (like CBS, with the rest of the multi-camera comedies). It looks like part of that might actually be happening.

Another Whitney Cummings Win: CBS Gives 2 Broke Girls A Full Season Order
Whitney Cummings is having a really good week, judging by this latest bit of news. The comedian had not one but two comedy series airing this fall and as of today, both of them have been given full season orders. Whitney’s pick-up was announced yesterday, and today, CBS posted good news about 2 Broke Girls.

NBC Cancels The Playboy Club, Orders Whitney And Up All Night For Full Seasons
It's not all bad news at the network, though-- NBC has given full-season orders for Up All Night, the bona fide comedy hit starring Will Arnett and Christina Applegate, as well as Whitney, considered by critics to be the redheaded stepchild of the otherwise solid Thursday night lineup

Thursday Ratings Are In: The Big Bang Theory Comes Out On Top
The ratings are in for last night’s primetime TV shows and The Big Bang Theory came out on top. A lot of people watched TV last night, but with so many new and returning shows premiering, there weren’t any huge break-out hits and a number of shows were down from last season’s premiere ratings, which isn’t all that surprising given the amount of competition on Thursday nights.

NBC's Whitney Tries For More Laughs With Guest Star Ken Marino
Is this what they call a silver lining? NBC's new sitcom Whitney couldn't be any less appealing based solely on the comedienne's previous work, the horrible promotional materials and, well, the comedienne's previous work. Yes, this is perhaps overly unfair but she's a divisive comic, some find her style of shouting her jokes at you hilarious, others find it grating, which is pretty much the death of funny. So, what's this silver lining? They've just added a genuinely hilarious talent in Ken Marino.

Jane Kaczmarek Joins Cast Of New NBC Comedy Whitney
Stepping into the role played by Beverly D’Angelo in the pilot, former Malcolm in the Middle star Jane Kaczmarek has joined the cast of the new NBC comedy Whitney. In a recurring role, Kaczmarek will portray the opinionated mother of title character Whitney Cummings; certainly not a role she will have any trouble taking on after playing a beleaguered mother of four boys.
